I've discovered that I might be using way too much lube on my spayed lab for vaginal sex. It gets slippery sloppy wet in there and not much sensation other than warmth and occasional muscle contractions. But I've noticed if I don't use enough, of course I can't fully penetrate, but what bit I can insert, there's textures unbeknownst to me. I would never try to use too little as to not cause any injury, but I wonder if anyone has experience with lube moderation, or even better, the ideal lube for canine vaginal sex? I'm currently using astroglide, copius amounts.

Use a better lube, get some pjur water based or wicked water based. Astroglide is garbage lube and they don’t really put much thought in to keeping it sanitary or hypoallergenic. Pjur, uberlube, and wicked are all amazing brands and are all still fairly cheap while having higher quality manufacturing and materials used in the process. As far as quantity for your use case, can’t really speak on that.
