A few questions about STDs and whether you can catch them from an animal.

I don't know if animals can contract human STDs, over the years I've heard a bit of conflicting information so I figure I'd ask here.

If they can, what STDs exactly can they get? Are there animal exclusive STDs too?

If animals can't contract human STDs, what about a scenario where somebody has an STD and they own an animal. The owner has bareback sex with the animal, then you later have bareback sex with the same animal. What are the chances here that you could contract an STD from the owners semen and other bodily fluids remaining inside the animal? I know various STDs can't live outside the body for long periods of time, but surely if there was infected semen inside a mares vagina then it might live for longer.

Another question is more on general infections. Say you have anal sex (you penetrating) with an animal like a horse or a dog, can you catch anything from them, even if it isn't an STD?

This question has been asked many times already so I'll briefly fill you in...

Yes, there are zoonotic STDs, but they are pretty rare. Animals can be carriers for human specific STDs even if they don't get the STD themself.

Yes, if an STD infected human has sex with their animal and you turn around and have sex with the same animal you can get said STD from touching the sexual fluids. STDs can survive 7-14 days inside of a canine vagina as an example.

If you have a cut/infection on your penis you run the risk of infection or further infection if you do anal and also don't wash yourself afterwards.
